ANNFSU’s demand

Kathmandu, June 27:

The president of the All Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), Thakur Gaire, today proposed the government include grade one to eight in the primary level education.

He said English and Nepali subjects should be made compulsory. Presenting a paper on “Education Policy of the New Nepal and the Role of the State” here, Gaire said the existing education system, which he termed as “unscientific and unequal,” should be restructured.

He said the government should take up all the responsibilities of the education sector and work towards freeing it from commercialisation.
