ANNISU-R padlocks schools

Lekhnath, February 17:

The All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union- Revolutionary (ANNISU-R) yesterday padlocked the administration offices of over 15 schools in Kaski district.

According to the western regional office of the Informal Sector Service Centre, the ANNISU-R padlocked the schools, which were handed over to the communities. The ANNISU-R blamed the government of trying to run away from its responsibility of running schools by handing them over to the communities.

Sujan Sharma, vice-president of Kaski ANNISU-R said, “The locks will not be opened unless government takes back the management of the schools.”

Earlier, ANNISU-R had locked administration offices of three schools. “We have locked out only the administration offices of the schools to make sure regular classes run as usual,” Sharma said.
