Chitwan, March 5:

Defence Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ today predicted Maoist student wing’s victory in the Free Students’ Union (FSU) election slated for March 19 and said the win will mark the final leg of victory of the Unified CPN-Maoist.

Addressing a gathering organised by the party’s student wing, ANNISU-R, at Birendra Multiple Campus here today, Badal said the party was used to victories but was yet to achieve the final victory. “The win in FSU election will open the door for our final and complete success,” he said.

Urging the students not to undermine the FSU election, Badal said, “In the past, the feudalist forces tried to keep the students away from the politics. The students should involve themselves in politics.”

Emphasising the need for a scientific and pragmatic education policy, Badal said a new scientific education system was today’s need. He , however, chose to refrain from commenting on the fresh hiring drive of the PLA.
