Cop robs Indian man of Rs 2 lakh in Janakpur

JANAKPURDHAM: An Armed Police Force Head Constable was arrested after he allegedly robbed an Indian national of Rs 2,00,000 in Hanumannagar area of Janakpur in Dhanusha district on Tuesday.

The accused is identified as Dharmendra Paswan, who hails from Jhijha Akaura of Dhanusha district and is posted in Hetaunda of Makawanpur district.

Paswan seized the money from Jivachha Yadav, who hails from Madhubani of Bihar, when he was walking on the street in Hanumannagar and ran away.

Responding to the victim who shouted and called for help, a team of police chased the suspect and got hold of him from his rented room, according DSP Manoj Yadav.

Police recovered the stolen money from the room and took the suspect in custody.

Further investigation into the case is underway.
