April stir survivor dies

Purna Bahadur Dhakal, who was declared a ‘living martyr’ of Jana Andolan-II, died at his residence in Ward-2 of Arjundhara VDC on Thursday. He was 74. He was shot on the forehead during a demonstration at Chandragadhi on April 19, 2006. Although he survived, he continued to suffer from dizziness, high blood pressure and asthma, which eventually caused his death. He is survived by a son, three daughters and a wife. Dhakal was a member of the Nepali Congress party.
