Area Administration Office established at Lapchane of Umakunda Rural Municipality Ward No 4, Ramechhap, has pulled down its shutter for one-and-a-half years.

The office was set up around three years ago. The office opened and delivered service for around six months only, said Ward No 4 Chair Dil Bahadur Shrestha.

Local Shyamraj Shrestha said staffers at the office had locked the office and left one-and-a-half-years ago. The office has not paid rent for one year.

Locals had reported to the District Administration Office and Home Ministry for resumption of area administration office, but to no avail.

Ramechhap CDO Lila Kumari KC Pandey said the office could not be operated for want of employees. She said DAO had sought employees for the area administration office. “DAO has sought staffers from the home ministry.
