MAHOTTARI: The Mahottari District Administration Office (DAO) has deployed the Nepali Army personnel in the Jaleshwor Jail at Jaleshwor for a week in view of security amidst the ongoing agitation in various districts in southern plains.

According to Deepak Kafle, Chief District Officer (CDO) at the Mahottari DAO, a total of 39 army men from the Shree First Rifle Battalion have been deployed at the Jail to avert the untoward activities from the prisoners.

The army men have been dispatched under the command of Captain Suman Khattri in accordance to the government’s decision.

The 'C' graded Jaleshwor Jail, established in 1962, accommodates 376 inmates, including 36 women, shared Shovendra Thakur, Chief of the Jaleshwor Jail.
