Around Rs 60 million collected to construct Nepali community building in USA
CALIFORNIA, US: Around Rs 60 million has been collected in a Saptaha, a seven-day religious event, organised with an objective of raising funds to construct a Nepali community building in Colorado, United States.
The Puran (holy scriptures and verses) in Saptaha, organised from April 28-May 5, was recited by Guru Dinbandhu Pokharel.
According to the Treasurer of Nepali Ghar (Nepal America Socio-Cultural Exchange Society, USA) Jagadish Dhakal, a total of $581,171 was collected in the Saptaha.
A trend of constructing a community building by migrant Nepalis at their locality in America by organising religious function has been on a rise of late.
