Arson attack on Indian truck in Chitwan

CHITWAN: An unidentified group took an Indian truck under control in Bharatpur and set it on fire on Saturday.

Police suspected that cadres of the Netra Bikram Chand-led CPN Maoist were behind the arson attack.

The Maoist outfit had imposed a Nepal bandh today to protest the death of a Nepali youth in Kanchanpur after the Indian security personnel allegedly opened fire on Thursday.

The Indian truck, registered in Uttar Pradesh, had come to Chitwan with wheat flour. It was taken to a

garage in Bharatpur for maintenance after unloading the consignment.

Police said four persons went to the garage to take the truck under control at around 3:30 pm and set it on fire at Bikas Chok.
