Female Provincial Assembly members from the Nepali Congress in Province 7 today demanded that NC leader Arzu Rana Deuba be made a candidate for the National Assembly polls.

PA female members from the NC in Province 7 issued a press statement today urging the party’s Central Working Committee and Parliamentary Board to make Arzu Deuba a candidate for National Assembly polls.

Provincial Assembly member Dibyaswori Shah said they had made the request saying that female representation from Province 7 was very minimal at the House of Representatives. “If Arzu is elected to the National Assembly, it will be easy to take women’s voice to the centre”, Shah added.

Nepali Congress Dadeldhura president and NC Provincial Assembly member Karna Bahadur Malla said the demand of the female PA members had his support.
