ADB to demolish illegal structures built along Mugling-Kotre stretch

Asian Development Bank is all set to demolish illegal structures along Mugling-Kotre section of the Prithvi Highway.

According to Chief of Road Division Office, Tanahun, Bhanu Joshi, ADB will demolish structures on either side of the highway for which the bank itself hire a contractor.

Earlier, the road division office had issued a notice for removal of illegally built structures along the road, but the locals ignored it.

“Preparations are under way to demolish illegal structures soon after Dashain. Around 2,500 huts, shanties and houses will be demolished,” said sources. After the removal of illegal structures, Muglin-Kotre section of the Prithvi Highway will be upgraded to four lanes.

Meanwhile, Chief of District Coordination Committee, Tanahun, Shanti Raman Wagle said that the road division office issued a circular to the local levels not demolish illegal structures as ADB itself was working on it.
