Assault slur on YCL yet again

Pokhara, May 14:

YCL cadres allegedly beat up and injured five NC and UML cadres over a land dispute between Krishna Bahadur Adhikari and Tek Bahadur Adhikari in Kaskikot VDC-7 today.

The injured were identified as Nepali Congress activists Min, Bharat, Bam and Narayan Adhikari and UML cadre Krishna Bahadur Adhikari.

The Kaski district court had given a verdict in favour of Krishna.

“Tek Bahadur brought YCL cadres from Pokhara to thrash us,” Krishna alleged.

Kaski district president of the YCL Dipak Koirala claimed his organisation had no hand in the incident. He said the five were injured in a scuffle between cadres of the NC, UML and the Maoists.

However, the injured persons said they were beaten up by a group of 100 persons led by the Maoists’ Kaski district member Dilip Bikram Shahi.

Shahi said he had visited Kaskikot to settle the dispute, but the incident occurred after he returned to Pokhara.
