Rajbiraj, February 9:

Lalan Yadav, Saptari Area No 1 in-charge of Akhil Tarai Mukti Morcha (ATMM), was killed in police action at Kamalpur in Saptari district this morning.

Yadav, a resident of Bakdhuwa-4, was killed in a crossfire between the police and the ATMM members at 2:30 am, when the latter tried to ambush a patrolling team of Armed Police Force from Dantakali Battalion in Barmajhiya, the police said.

Three ATMM cadres were also arrested after the clash. The arrested are Mukunda Swarnakar of Kanchanpur VDC-6, Bikash Bishwokarma and Rajkumar Bishwokarma of Kamalpur-4, the police said.

Meanwhile, Ajit Singh, ATMM eastern army commander accused the police of killing Lalan after taking him under control.

Yadav who sustained two bullets on his chest had been taken to Rajbiraj based Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital before he succumbed to the bullet wounds.

Meanwhile, Manoj Yadav alias Mahan Singh, Siraha in-charge of Madhes Rastra Jantantrik Party-Revolutionary (MRJP-R) was killed by his own party cadres last night.
