Ayurveda practitioner held
RAUTAHAT: Police in Rautahat yesterday arrested an Ayurveda practitioner over the death of a patient.
Ravi Ahmed, originally from Sitamadhi district of India, was first detained by locals and then handed over to police. He had been running an Ayurvedic clinic at Pipara Bazaar in Rautahat for the last 25 years. He was sent to District Police Office for further investigation.
The deceased patient has been identified as Rafik Miyan, 50, of Bhalohiya. Rafik's kin had called Ahmed for his treatment.
According to Rafik's kin, he had died just minutes after Ahmed gave him ‘a vaccine with no label'. The family members detained the clinic operator when he tried to flee.
DSP Sudhirraj Shahi of the DPO informed that they had discovered various wrongdoings on the part of the clinic operator.
