KANCHANPUR: A hatchling of a crocodile was found in Beldandi Municipality-7 in Kanchanpur district on Sunday.

The 10-kg hatchling was found at a yard of a house owned by Bikash Sethi, informed Uttam Bahadur Birsta, technician of the Beldandi Range Post Office.

The Sethi family had informed the Office and it was later rescued by officials of the Shuklaphanta Wildlife Reserve.

The Reserve officials meanwhile have released the baby crocodile near a wetland, added Bista.

It has been assumed that the hatchling came from Kalikich wetland of the Reserve.
