Weather clears, choppers head towards plane crash site

Following the improvement in weather, security personnel with the help of three choppers have headed towards plane crash site in Rupse of Myagdi district in western Nepal.
Bad weather hampers bid to reach plane crash site in Myagdi
KATHMANDU: Bad weather hampered efforts to reach the plane crash site in Rupse of Myagdi district in western Nepal on Wednesday.
Three choppers that were mobilised in Rupse area in Myagdi district have returned to Pokhara.
Owing to bad weather caused by rain, security personnel are trying to reach the incident site on foot.
"We will resume search and rescue operations after the weather improves," Tara Air said.
A Tara Twin-Otter plane with 23 people, including three crew members and two children, on board, reportedly crashed in Myagdi district in western Nepal on this morning.
The aircraft (Twin-Otter 400-series with call sign 9N-AHH) had taken off from Pokhara for Jomsom at 7:50 am. The aircraft was in contact till 8:15 am.
