Badal for union of leftist, patriotic forces
RUPANDEHI: General secretary of Unified CPN-Maoist Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ today said the leftist, patriotic and nationalist forces should unite since other major parties were conspiring against the largest party in the Constituent Assembly.
Addressing a programme organised by the party in Butwal, he said their recently launched movement would end the transitional phase in the country.
“We will establish civilian supremacy, discuss the resolution motion against the President’s move and protect the country’s independence by means of the stir,” he said.
“After the establishment of these agenda, a consensus government led by the UCPN-M will be formed.”
Badal said the Maoist dream of nationality, people’s freedom and liberation would be materialised soon.
The Maoist leader said the new constitution would guarantee rights for ethnic autonomy, women and backward communities but added the statute could not be drafted in the present context.
“UCPN-M is the genuine protector of nationality. Neither the ousted monarchy nor the Nepali Congress nor the Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist Leninist can do the task,” said Badal.
