Bajura NC-UML clash: 3 suspects arrested in connection with UML cadre's death

BAJURA: Police in Bajura district have taken three suspects under control in connection with the death of CPN-UML supporter Hansh Rawat, who was killed in a clash between Nepali Congress and UML cadres yesterday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Dal Bahadur Bogati, Chief at the District Police Office, NC mayoral candidate Nara Bahadur Rawat, teacher Padam Rawat and Tek Bahadur Rawat, the permanent residents of Chhededaha Rural municipality in the district, were arrested on Sunday evening for further investigation.

Rawat had died after being hit by a stone in his testicles during a clash with Nepali Congress cadres at Jogedi in Chededaha Rural Municipality-5 in the district on Sunday.

Both sides had pelted one another with stones in the violent confrontation between the two parties on their way to file nomination at the local Election Office.

Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent to the Bajura District Hospital for an autopsy. However, the UML has informed that they would not allow postmortem until the culprit gets booked.

The CPN-UML cadres also obstructed the Saaphe-Martadi road section for two hours this morning.
