Banke FNJ seeks republic

Nepalgunj, December 16:

The Banke chapter of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has sought the establishment of a federal democratic republic. A general meeting of the Banke FNJ passed the proposal seeking the establishment of a democratic republic yesterday.

A meet, which will be held in Nepalgunj on December 21 and 22, will endorse the proposal. The meeting decided to expel journalists Siraj Khan and Rais Ahamad Siddiqui as they worked against Jana Andolan-II, vice-president of the Banke FNJ Jhalak Gaire said.

Addressing the inaugural function, FNJ central member Mohamad Harun said those journalists who do not support a democratic republic are “regressive”.
