Banking services available in all local levels of Dhankuta

Banking facility has reached all seven local levels, ending people’s compulsion to visit headquarters for financial and banking transactions in Dhankuta.
With the establishment of financial institutions in three municipalities and four rural municipalities, payment of development projects operating in the local levels and payment of employees, among others, have become easy and convenient.
Rastriya Banijya Bank has opened its branch at Jitpur market in Mahalaxmi Municipality. Janata Bank has started its service in Pakhribash Municipality.
Sahidbhumi Rural Municipality, which was out of financial access for a long time, has Citizens Bank International providing banking service. Though the bank has yet to open its branch formally, local people are opening their accounts at the rural municipality’s centre. Bank’s assistant branch manager Bharat Adhikari said bank would open its branch formally in two weeks.
Rural municipality chairman Manoj Rai said his office would carry out financial transactions through Citizen Bank International from the next fiscal. “Establishment of the bank’s branch has ended our compulsion to visit the headquarters,” said Rai.
Nepal Bangladesh Bank has also set up its branch at Rajarani of Chuabishe Rural Municipality. NBB has expanded its branch at Chhatharjorpati Rural Municipality and Sangurigadhi Rural Municipality. Chaubishe Rural Municipality chair Khajindra Rai said all financial transactions of the rural municipality would be carried out through the bank.
