Police have arrested two individuals along with Rs 1,020,000 for their involvement in illegal hundi transactions in Bara district on Monday.
The arrestees have been identified as 41-year-old Saidulla Miya Thakurai and 22-year-old Baghar Ansari, both residents of Purainiya in Feta Rural Municipality-6 in Bara.
Acting on a special tip-off, a police team led by Senior Sub-Inspector Santosh K.C.from the Area Police Office, Chhatwa, apprehended them on Monday afternoon at the Ghoda Sahan checkpoint in Bishrampur Rural Municipality-1. The police team arrested the suspects while they were bringing the undisclosed source of money from India to Nepal on a motorcycle (Na 36 Pa 4563).
A case has been filed against the arrested individuals under the hundi-related offense, and a seven-day remand has been obtained from the District Court, Bara, for further investigation, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dadhiram Nyaupane, Spokesperson at the Bara District Police Office.
