Beauty pageant organisers accused of cheating Chitwan nurses
CHITWAN: Winners of the Miss Nurse beauty pageant have filed an FIR against organisersof the competition claiming they failed to reward the winners.
The String Media and its Executive Director Sirish Pudasaini were accused of not giving prizes to the winners as announced even 15 months have passed since the event.
The event was organised in Bharatpur, the Chitwan district headquarters, on July 19, 2014.
Before filing the complaints, the alleged victims had taken Pudasaini under control and handed him to police.
Mamata Pandey, winner of the title, revealed that the organisers had pledged to give a scooter to her within 12 days of the competition.
They had also announced to provide modelling opportunities in at least six music videos.
Likewise, the first and second runner-up contestants would get Rs 25,000 and 15,000 respectively and both would get a chance to act in at least a music video, as per their claims. However, none of the finalists has received any thing to this date.
The winner Pandey even said she even had to leave her job to participate in the contest and now is deprived of getting any affiliation with other organisations for a year.
As many as 107 staff nurse as well as BSc Nursing and BN students had participated in the beauty pageant.
According to DSP Rajan Adhikari of the Chitwan District Police Office, further investigation is underway.
