Beggars’ description of flood victims’ existence

BAJHANG: Fifty-two families displaced by the landslides this monsoon are living in misery.

The natural disaster caused a lot of damage in Sunuda, Deules, Badthala, Subeda and Rilu VDCs, leaving the people without their property.

According to the data provided by the District Police Office, more than 900 households were affected by the disaster. Twelve families of Rilu VDC have been taking shelter at their relatives' houses while those of Subeda VDC have been living temporarily at a local school building.

The family of each deceased person was provided Rs 25,000 while other victimised families were given Rs 5,000, tents and some utensils.

The 52 families had expected more during the visits of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister. As many as 122 members of the displaced families are now facing the food shortage.
