LUMBINI: The Belahiya transit on the Nepal-India border has been closed since today morning after some Nepali youth reportedly thrashed two Indian persons on Tuesday evening.

The border entry point, which saw restrictions earlier by Indian side on the passage of vehicles carrying goods and cargo, had resumed some days ago.

Following the closure, the Nepal-bound cargo vehicles have not been allowed passage. Only people returning to Nepal have been allowed.

After the incident, security personnel of both the countries have tightened security in the area, it has been said.
