Belkotgadhi Municipality to expand, upgrade 255 local roads

NUWAKOT: The Belkotgadhi Municipality in Nuwakot district is set to expand 255 local roads in one go for urban development in the municipality.

According to Mayor Rajendra Raman Khanal, the municipality has allocated Rs 80 million for this purpose with top priority to expansion and upgrading of 255 roads after realising the lack of good roads to link rural areas to the municipality and other offices.

Two black-topped road — Pasang Lhamu Road and Galchhi-Deveighat road — are currently in operation in the municipality, said Mayor Khanal, adding that lack of roads connecting other areas to the municipality has been hindering the development. This has led to prioritising the expansion and upgrading of roads as demanded by the locals.

The roads set for expansion and upgrading by the municipality are categorised into four sections.
