KATHMANDU: Defence Minister Bidhaya Devi Bhandari will visit China in the third week of March on the invitation of Chinese Defence Minister Lian Guanglie. According to a high-level source at the Ministry of Defence, the main agenda of the visit will be the resumption of Chinese military assistance to Nepal and extending the military ties between the two countries. Like other countries, China had blocked the military assistance to Nepal when the former king Gyanendra imposed direct rule in 2005. NA source said China had been regularly providing non-lethal equipment to Nepal. NA source said, "As far as lethal equipments are concerned, government to government deal is a must."
