Bhutan ready to resume talks on refugee issue: Oli
Kathmandu, June 1:
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister KP Oli today said that Bhutan is ready to resume talks soon for repatriation of Bhutanese refugees.
“I found the Bhutanese foreign minister positive and hope that the dialogue would begin soon,” said Oli, who met Bhutanese foreign minister Khando Wangchowk on the sidelines of the ministerial level meeting of Non Aligned Movement (NAM) in Malaysia.
He said that while Nepal is ready to become extremely flexible in resolving the problems of Bhutantees refugees, it is the government of Bhutan which needs to sincerely demonstrate that kind of flexibility.
He said he also met Indian state minister for external affairs and discussed the current political situation in Nepal. Asked about India’s views on inviting UN for monitoring ceasefire in Nepal, Oli said that India is not “negative.”
