RAJBIRAJ: Bishnupur Rural Municipality office in Saptari district has distributed bicycles to 34 female community health volunteers (FCHVs).

Availability of bicycles with the FCHVs is expected to make health services provided by them more effective, rural municipality Vice-Chair Janjira Devi Yadav said.

Despite a crunch in budget, the bicycles were made available to the FCHVs through other budget headings considering the sensitiveness of their service, according to Chief Administrative Officer Ranjit Jung Adhikari.

"It will now be easier for us to travel to and from the health post and ward office," FCHV Arula Devi Yadav shared.
