Bid to strengthen foreign ties

Kathmandu, November 28:

The Ministry of Foreign affairs has intensified meetings with officials of different diplomatic missions in Kathmandu to strengthen and widen Nepal’s diplomatic relations.

Spokesperson for the ministry Hira Bahadur Thapa said new initiatives are being taken to make the ministry more dynamic even though Nepal’s ties with diplomatic missions have remained extremely good since long ago.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Sahana Pradhan met ambassadors of Norway, Egypt and India at her office at Shital Niwas yesterday.

Pradhan discussed issues of bilateral, regional and multilateral concerns with Norwegian envoy Tore Toreng, Egyptian envoy Abdelhamid Mahmoud Soleiman and Indian envoy Shiv Shankar Mukherjee. Meanwhile, a ministerial level Chinese delegation is arriving on Friday for a four-day visit and a European Union delegation will be arriving here on December 3 to study Nepal’s latest situation, the ministry said.
