RAJBIRAJ: An elderly woman died after being hit by a motorcycle at Baramjhiya in Saptari district along the East-West Highway, on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Umadevi Gupta (60), a resident of Kanchanrup Municipality of Saptari, police said.

According to the police, Gupta was trying to cross the road when she was hit by the motorcycle (Sa 5 Pa 2234) yesterday.

Gupta sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Golden Hospital in Biratnagar for treatment. However, she breathed her last while undergoing treatment this morning, informed Police Inspector Gauram Mahat of the Area Police Office.
