HETAUNDA: A youth was killed after a passenger bus hit the motorcycle he was riding on at Saraswati Khola along the East-West Highway in Makawanpur district.

The victim has been identified as 20-year-old Baitula Dewan, who hailed from Jatahara of Rautahat district.

He died on the spot after the bus with registration number Na 5 Kha 5372, heading to Hetaunda from Narayangadh, collided with the motorcycle with registration number Na 17 Pa 2690 head-on this afternoon, according to police.

The bus driver, identified as 43-year-old Narayan Prasad Bhusal, has been taken in custody and the bus impounded, according to DSP Shishu Sharma.
