Biker who killed pedestrian sentenced to 20 days in prison

DAMAULI: The Tanahun District Court on Thursday slapped a biker to 20 days in prison and a fine of Rs 2,000 for killing a pedestrian.

A single bench of district judge Bhalbhadra Bastola handed down the sentence to Sanjeev Wagle of Byas-8 yesterday, Surya Prasad Bhandari, the court registrar informed.

According to police, Chandra Pulami (48) lost his life after Wagle’s bike (Ga 9 8351) hit him near Hotel Pancham, Byas-11.

Pulami, who sustained serious injuries on his head, was rushed to the Ratnahari Hospital in Damauli for treatment. Later, he was referred to the Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara, where he breathed his last during the course of treatment.
