KATHMANDU: Police arrested Kavrepalanchok district secretary of Netra Bikram Chanda (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) in Panauti Municipality-9, on Wednesday night.

Acting on a special tip-off, a team of police deployed from Kavrepalanchok District Police Office, Dhulikhel arrested Suntali Thokar (32) from her home at midnight, according to Superintendent of Police (SP) Jay Raj Sapkota.

Thokar had taken the responsibility of the CPN district secretary after the formation of CPN district committee recently.

Meanwhile, police have proceeded with the investigation on the arrested member of the political party banned by the government.
