Biplav-led CPN Makawanpur incharge, cadre detained in connection with blasts

HETAUDA: Police in Makawanpur district have detained the district incharge along with another cadre of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav)-led Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).

Chief of Makawanpur District Police Office (DPO), Superintendent of Police (SP) Mukesh Kumar Singh informed that the district incharge of biplav-led CPN, Bir Bahadur Ghalan aka 'Jwala' and another cadre accompanying him on a motorcycle were detained during a security check carried out at Fireline in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-8, on Thursday night.

DPO chief Singh told THT Online, "Police detained Ghalan and another cadre acting on the First Information Report (FIR) lodged at the police office accusing the CPN cadres of engaging in criminal activities by detonating bombs at infrastructure projects and disturbing peace and security, and also transacting arms and explosives."

Meanwhile, the detainees were being questioned in police custody at the DPO, SP Singh informed.

It has been reported that police have detained four others who were suspected of having connection with the CPN.

The government has banned the party since March 12, following a series of explosions that took place at Ncell towers and other public places across the country.
