Blast at NCP PA member’s house

Bhairahawa, August 16

An unidentified group of people detonated a kerosene bomb in the residence of Province 5 lawmaker and Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Province 5 Chief Whip Bhumiswor Dhakal at Rampur Colony of Sainamaina Municipality, Rupandehi, last night.

Dhakal’s vehicle was damaged in the explosion. Rupandehi District Police Office said three beer bottles used as kerosene bombs were recovered from the incident site.

Of the three bottles, one was recovered from the vehicle, one from a place near Dhakal’s room and another from a place near the room of Dhakal’s parents.

A police team has been deployed to nab the persons involved in the explosion, said SP Hridaya Thapa.

A team led by Inspector Rabi Mainali from Area Police Office Saljhandi and another team of DPO have launched a probe from different angles into the incident to find out the culprit behind the blast.

Chief Whip Dhakal was not at his home when the incident took place. He has been undergoing treatment at Kathmandu-based Medicity Hospital for the past four days.
