Rajbiraj, August 10:

Two Rajbiraj-based government offices were damaged in twin blasts today.

Activists of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Ranbir Singh) detonated a pressure cooker bomb at 7:40 pm in the Saptari DDC office, which lies close to the Saptari District Police Office.

According to police, the blast caused damage to four rooms, computers and furniture.

Central JTMM-R leader Bibas Bidrohi owned up the blast over telephone. He said the blast was carried out to protest financial irregularities in the DDC.

Also today, activists of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha (Rajan) detonated a pipe bomb in Saptari Land Revenue Office. The Saptari DPO said the blast caused minor damage to the building. JTMM-R city in-charge Shiba Mukti has owned up the blast.

Security has been stepped up in the district after the blasts, police said.
