Phidim, October 13:

Three children died when a cowshed they were playing in was gutted in Sarangdanda VDC of Panchthar yesterday.

The cowshed caught fire while their fathers — Ganesh Bahadur Angdambe and Sher Bahadur Angdambe — were preparing feed for the cattle.

Ganesh Bahadur’s daughter Farista and Sher Bahadur’s daughter Sumanta and son Suman died in the fire.

The fire could be put off only late in the evening and the bodies of the children were charred beyond recognition, said DSP Tarani Prasad Lamsal at the Panchthar District Police Office.

Meanwhile, one Chandra Nepali (35) of Chilingdin-6 was found dead near his house today, police said. He was hanged in a tree.
