Bodhichitta makes farmers happy

Farmers of Sunapati Rural Municipality have been able to earn good income from Bodhichitta farming in Ramechhap.

Bodhichitta farmers of Dahu in wards 4 and 5 made a profit to the tune of Rs 500 million from the sale of bodhichitta seeds this year.

More farmers have started professional cultivation of bodhichitta after Buddhist monks started using the seeds as rosary beads for chanting mantra. Sunaptai Rural Municipality declared pocket areas in Dahu of Ward No 4 and Khaniyapani of Ward No 5 as areas for commercial farming of Bodhichitta.

Farmers said it had become a reliable source of income.
