Body formed to prevent chicken import

BIRATNAGAR: The Animal Quarantine Office Biratnagar formed a high-level regional monitoring committee on Friday to prevent the import of eggs and chickens to Nepal from India. Monitoring will be carried out in Morang, Sunsari, Jhapa, Saptari, Siraha, Rani in Biratnagar, Bhantabari of Sunsari, Madar of Siraha, Chandragadhi of Jhapa, Rajbiraj of Saptari to prevent the import, said director of the quarantine office, Shibendra Kumar Singh.

A regular monitoring system has been adopted to stop the import of livestock from open checkpoints, a report from Bhairahawa, citing the Livestock Quarantine Check Post Belhiya, said. A Bird Flu Prevention and Consciousness Taskforce, Lumbini, has been formed under the coordination of Gopal Tandon, a report from Rupandehi said.
