Boeing returns

Kathmandu, August 18:

A Boeing aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC), which was compelled to make an emergency landing at New Delhi on Wednesday night, has come back into operation.

The Boeing 757 Karnali, which was on its way to Dubai carrying 190 passengers and was compelled to divert to New Delhi after the pilots detected overheating in its left engine, landed at Tribhuvan International Airport at 21:35 pm today, said Gautam Das Shrestha, managing director of NAC.

The aircraft had earlier flown to Dubai this morning after necessary maintenance in New Delhi. “The scheduled flights will take place tomorrow onwards. Another Boeing aircraft also came into operation from today,” Shrestha told this daily.

Earlier hundreds of NAC passengers were stranded at different international airports after the national flag carrier failed to take off as per the schedule. However, Shrestha claimed that none of the NAC flights were cancelled. “The flights were delayed but we managed with help of other airlines,” he added.
