CHITWAN: Nepal Army's bomb disposal squad defused a pressure cooker bomb found on the premises of Nepali Congress Ward Contact Office in Sharadpur of Bharatpur Municipality-9 in Chitwan district on Saturday morning.

Owner of the building that housed the Nepali Congress office informed police about a suspicious object discovered on the pavement by the shutter of the building this morning.

Security personnel mobilised at the site found out that it was an improvised explosive device made using a 2.5-litre pressure cooker, said police.

The pressure cooker bomb was take outside the building and defused in an open.

Meanwhile, security has been in Chitwan to prevent any untoward activities against the local level elections.
