Book on peoples' war released
KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' today said that the 10-year long peoples' war succeeded because of the synthesis of ideas from all over the world that the party adopted. "The power of ideology transformed into physical strength," he said.
Releasing a book entitled 'Marxbadi Darshan ra Janayuddha' -- Marxist Philosophy and People's War -- penned by Maoist politburo member Haribol Gajurel 'Shital Kumar' here, he said that the party had learnt a lot from various foreign imperialist intellectuals but had nothing to learn from Nepali experts.
Saying that his party was unhappy as the bourgeoisie could not understand the activities of his party and were unable to react and counter, he said, "It could hamper the progress of revolutionaries."
He claimed the book would fill the readers with ideological energy.
He also said that it is the high time for intellectuals to take a side, either pro-people or anti-people, as the political scenario of the country is heading towards climax. "We want to take a bold step to create a vibrant society," he added.
The book has been published by the Publication Department of the party.
Writer Gajurel said that the book was aimed at making new generation aware about the ideological issues and the people's war.
Commenting on the book senior litterateur Jagadish Ghimire said the book could be used as an official text book of the party.
New politburo member of the UCPN-M Navaraj Subedi said the book could be more effective if that included land equations connecting it with federalism.
Senior journalist Tirtha Koirala said the book would help people create a perspective to see the society. He, however, said the book failed to speak about the increasing domination of Multi National Companies in the agriculture.
Historian Dr Surendra KC claimed that the Maoist felt hardships to establish its movement on national independence and civilian supremacy because of a very weak base to support.
