Bote girl becomes schoolteacher
Baireni (Tanahun), March 6:
Bote community is elated to have someone among them as a teacher. Rama, 22, of Byas Municipality 5 Baireni would take over as a teacher in the Chandidevi Rastriya Madhyamik Bidyalaya, where she was once a student. It is located near the Bote village.
Sukbahadur Bote said: “We are thrilled to have Rama as a teacher from our community.” She received an appointment letter from the school on February 27.
Headmaster of the school Harisharan Pandit said Rama was appointed under the District Education Office’s primary level relief quota. “Diligent and hardworking since childhood, Rama is the first teacher from the Bote community,” he added.
She passed SLC from the school in 2003 and certificate level in Education Faculty from Damauli College in 2006. Bote community also claimed that she is also the first one to possess IEd qualification.
Rama said that the teaching has been easier for her after a 10-month primary teaching training from Damauli’s Gyanbhumi Training Center. “It is a dream come true. I will always be active to upgrade the living standards of the Bote community and preserve its culture,” she said.
Rama’s father Lalbahadur said: “I am elated to have my daughter as the first teacher of the community. What more could bring happiness to me than this that she is able to give exposure to the whole community?” Rama’s mother was also equally happy.
