Boulder falls upon, injures 2 in Chitwan

CHITWAN: Two persons were injured when a boulder hit a moving vehicle at Ghumaune, Kabilas VDC-8, along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section in Chitwan district in the wee hours of Saturday.

The injured have been identified as 40-year-old Tanka Kumar Moktan, a permanent resident of Rajghat-2 in Sarlahi and 23-year-old Manohar Kumar Chaudhary, a permanent resident of Chandranigahapur Municipality-10, Rautahat.

Police said the mishap took place at 3:30 am today when the boulder fell upon the bus (Na 5 Kha 2167) heading towards Kathmandu from Gaur. Moktan is the driver of the vehicle while Chaudhary is his assistant.

The injured have been taken to Kathmandu for treatment, said police.

Meanwhile, an excavator was damaged by the rolling boulders, while clearing the debris near Chandibhanjyang VDC-5 along the Narayangadh-Muglin road section.
