Brawl in exam hall, 4 hurt

Taulahawa, May 18:

Exam observer Rajendra Kumar KC and three examinees — Rajendra Chaudhary, Diwakar Jaiswal and Janardan Gaire — were injured in a scuffle between the students and exam observers at Siddhartha Higher Secondary Taulihawa exam centre today.

The scuffle followed an argument between Grade XI students and observers that ensued when some students tried to copy in the exam.

Following the brawl, Kapilvastu district education office announced the cancellation of examinations being held in the exam centre. According to police inspector at Kapilvastu district police office, Mahendra Bahadur BK, the examinees had hurled a brick at KC.

Examinations of sociology, education and physics were being held at the centre today. According to supervisor Bhesh Raj Pandey, the students tore their answer sheets.

The examinees also vent their fury on fans, tables, benches and boards in the exam hall. They didn’t spare Pandey’s motorbike.

Some 200 students were taking examination at the centre.
