Brick kiln labourer shot, injured in Rautahat

RAUTAHAT: A man sustained critical injuries after he was shot at Nem brick factory in Katahariya Municipality-8 of Rautahat district on Monday night.

The injured has been identified as Ramashish Yadav (50), a labourer at the brick kiln, a resident of Mohammadpur, Garuda Municipality-5 in the district.

According to Garuda-based Area Police Office Chief Superintendent of Police Govinda Thapa, an unidentified group shot Yadav inflicting serious injuries in his back while he was sleeping with his co-worker at the factory, at around 11:30 pm yesterday.

Thapa received first aid at local health institution before he was rushed to the Narayani Sub-regional Hospital, Birgunj where he has been undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, police have detained Yadav's fellow worker suspecting his involvement in the shooting incident.

Yadav is said to be a marijuana addict and someone may have shot him to exact vengeance, police presumed after the preliminary investigation.
