Bus plunge in Bheri claims four

Jajarkot, February 14

At least four persons died and eight were injured when a bus met with an accident and fell into the Bheri River in Bheri Municipality, Jajarkot, this evening.

All four persons died on the spot when the bus heading to Radi Bazaar of Rukum from Nepalgunj veered off the road near Rinma Bazaar and landed some 150 metres into

the Bheri river at around 7:15 pm.

Among the dead, one has been identified as Min Bahadur Bohora of Dolpa. Others are yet to be identified.

Eight persons were rescued from the accident site.

“Of the rescued, two are undergoing treatment at the local medical facility, while the rest have been taken to the district hospital in Jajarkot for further treatment,” said Inspector Keshav Karki of District Police Office.

Soon after the accident, personnel of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and Nepali Army, along with locals, had started the rescue operation, which, according to the inspector, is on.

“As it’s raining, rescue operation has become more difficult,” said the inspector.
