Businessmen seek security

Biratnagar, May 20:

The Morang Trade Association (MTA) today demanded immediate action against those involved in the shooting of businessman Rajesh Begani, 30, last night and sought proper security to businessmen.

The MTA team led by the senior vice chairman Mahesh Jaju made this demand in a memorandum they submitted today to the Morang Chief District Officer Madhav Regmi. The businessmen also closed all shops here until 2.00 in the afternoon to protest against last night’s attack on trader Begani.

Two armed persons shot at Begani in front of the District Police Office and looted a bag from him. Begani sustained bullet injuries on chest and knee and has been taken to New Delhi for treatment.

Begani, who was living in a rented room at Mainroad in Biratnagar-8, was running a money exchange counter.
