Rupandehi, July 13:

Tension mounted in Butwal after a teacher of Butwal Multiple Campus, Nawaraj Acharya, was killed in an accident here this morning. Acharya was critically injured when his motorbike and a truck collided at Gallamadi.

He died while undergoing treatment in the Butwal Hospital, the Butwal Area Police Office said. Alleging that the truck driver deliberately killed Acharya by reversing his vehicle and running him over, students of the Butwal Multiple Campus and Glorious Campus disrupted traffic and shut down shops in the city.

“Inspection of the spot, the nature of injuries Acharya had to suffer and versions of the eyewitnesses suggest there is no chance that the truck driver could have killed Acharya by reversing the truck and running him over,” police said, adding that the mishap occurred as Acharya was driving his bike rashly.
