CA polls: 16 eastern districts to see APF men deployed

Personnel of the Armed Police Force (APF) will be deployed in all 16 districts of the eastern region for security and creating an environment conducive to holding the constituent assembly elections scheduled for June 20.
According to the DIG of the Kankalini Battalion of the APF at Pakali in Sunsari, Thakur Mohan Shrestha, APF men have already been deployed in all eastern hilly districts last month.
He said preparation for deploying more men in the remaining Tarai districts of the region is underway.
Shrestha, who was transferred to the Battalion 11 days ago, said up to 60 APF men were deployed in each hilly district, while up to 100 personnel will be deployed in each of the Tarai districts. He added that the personnel have been sent to the hilly districts such as Khotang, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Terhathum, Sankhuwasabha, Okhaldhunga, Panch-thar, Taplejung and Ilam.
The APF personnel of the Kankalini Battalion and its Brigade were sent to the hilly districts following directions from the APF headquarters.
